Here at Lisburne, we cater for children with a range of complex learning needs. These include moderate, severe or profound learning difficulties and autistic spectrum conditions. Each child has their own Educational Healthcare Plan (EHCP) which is used to ensure they access a range of therapy, learning and healthcare opportunities in order to meet their needs.

The Early Years department at Holly has 26 children for the academic year 2020-21. There are 11 reception age children and 15 Key Stage 1 Children.

The Early Years department at Overdale, Lime Class has 25 from January 2021.

Lime Class access their learning through continuous provision in different classrooms and a large outside learning area.

Holly Class children children are taught together in mixed age groups for all activities. This mixed age grouping is a positive aspect of our provision, helping Reception children to learn from good modelling by Year 1 children.  Year 1 children also gain confidence and mature socially and emotionally during this second year in the Early Years. At the end of Year 1 they are ready to transition to the next stage of their education.
