We are pleased to see everyone return back to school happy and safe after the ½ term holidays. A group of our Year 5 and 6 children will shortly be going to Petty Pool for their residential this half term – whilst there they’ll enjoy a variety of outdoor learning opportunities with some children staying over for 2 nights. The teachers and staff are always so proud of all our children particularly when attempting these new challenges and I’m sure they will continue to be a credit to the school with exceptional behaviour and manners…

We have just completed a fantastic maths week at Lisburne School. Taking our inspiration from this summer’s World Cup we used football to help us focus on numerical language. We had several activities to enjoy throughout school, including taking penalty shoot-outs, creating our own numbered football shirts and timing ourselves during different football tasks. The school was split into four teams of Russia, Brazil, Spain and Japan. We competed to see which country won the most reward footballs for excellent effort with the maths activities during the week. Everybody joined in incredibly well and during Good Work Assembly we found out that Spain came out as our overall winners. With high levels of engagement and enthusiasm from all pupils, Maths Week was a football-tastic success!
Welcome back ~ we are pleased to see everyone return to school after the Easter break. We had the typical Bank Holiday Weekend weather then a few better days when people managed to get out and about! The children have settled back into the routine of school and are enjoying lots of outdoor learning with a range of healthy activities and opportunities.
