Headteacher’s Welcome Back Letter

Dear Parents and carers,

I hope that you all had a lovely half term break. The two-day play scheme was a great success; I would like to thank Rachael Knowles and all the staff who enable us to provide this valuable facility during the holiday.

Please can I remind you that our Parents Evenings are Monday 12th November for all classes at Lisburne Site and Wednesday 14th November for Holly Class, I look forward to extending a particularly warm welcome to all our new parents that started with us in September as well as seeing many familiar faces. Our school Family Liaison Team (Karen and Fiona) will be available along with myself and Gill Levis to discuss any issues and provide support or guidance ~please be aware that SALT, OT and Physiotherapists will not be present on this occasion.

Stay and Play Day (7th-9th November)

New parents, carers and family members at Lisburne School were invited to their first Stay and Play event which took place this week (7th-9th November). Adults, children and staff got involved with several creative activities including biscuit decorating and arts and crafts. The morning also gave people an introduction into how Lisburne pupils use recreational facilities such as the Light Room and Soft Play.  It was great to see so many people coming along and getting involved with the activities and to promote parental engagement within Lisburne.

Wear it Pink Day Friday 19th October

For wear it Pink Day Lisburne invited all pupils and staff to come to school wearing something pink. A shirt, socks, even wigs, anything pink is very welcome on this day to raise awareness about breast cancer. This year every class made cakes and decorated them with pink icing and the school raised almost £200.00 for the Breast Cancer Now charity. Please view our small gallery below of the day

Lisburne School Therapy Morning. Thursday 18th October.

On Thursday 18th October Lisburne dedicated a whole morning to therapy sessions. Each class took part in two speech therapy focused activities and two activities focusing on occupational therapy.

The speech therapy activities focused on developing attention and listening skills and how to model language during play.

The occupational therapy activities involved developing awareness of our bodies and movement and sensory based activities focused on the tactile system.

The aim of the day was to acknowledge the good therapy work within Lisburne School and to share therapist knowledge and techniques for staff to implement in the future.

Information regarding Therapist at Lisburne School can be found on our dedicated other agencies page :

Harvest Festival at Lisburne October 2018

This year for Harvest each class at Lisburne has been learning about the different types of food we collect and celebrate Harvest.

The children invited their parents into school to share some Harvest themed fun. Some classes made bread, some explored fruit and vegetable printing and some went on a Harvest hunt to find some yummy ingredients to make a vegetable soup!

PALS Coffee Morning Thursday 18th October

We would like to welcome all parents/carers to our first PALS coffee morning of 2018. The jump space Café is situated upstairs within jump space, on Hardman Street Stockport and it provides a chance for you to see this provision that is regularly used by school, and what it has to offer you as a family.  All this whilst you enjoy a chat over coffee or a nice cup of tea!!
